It was an emotional day in parliament as everyone was reminded of the recent tragedy that hit the country following the murder of a teenage boy by his teenage friends for money rituals.
Who is at fault, the government or society? Have we gone too far and where do we draw the lines?
The practice of Sakawa, Gender Equality and Equity, were some issues on the floor of parliament and of course, judges Dr. Kuku Biney and Nii Boi Annan gave their candid responses to the submissions from the honorable ministers of the three competing governments as they shared tailored approaches to curbing and eventually eliminating these social vices.

The Osagyefo Government raised issues with feminism and seized the opportunity to enlighten the house on the true purpose of feminism, which does not promote superiority against the male gender, but rather seek the well being of the female gender. The youth minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection for the Osagyefo Government, Hon. Delphina Bilobi Jentina AsaaseYaa, told the house that her government will support all female tertiary students with funding to start small scale businesses with mentors to guide them.
Education is identified by the Yaa Asantewah government as being very pivotal to the growth and moral development of a child. The youth minister, Hon. Bridget Boakye reiterated that, with a proper education system and regulations her government can solve the issue of streetism and sakawa, which have become the norm amongst the youth today. As doers of what they preach, the Yaa Asantewah government is led by an able woman, in hopes to bridging the gap between gender and leadership.
The role of women in leadership was further emphasizes by Hon. Linda Ackah Mensah, the youth minister for the Fabian government. She said, women - led countries, notably managed the Covid 19 pandemic very well and this is no coincidence.
