Winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024 and rising environmental advocate, Queen Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, has led her team from EcoGreen Oases Legacy on a strategic visit to the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, to discuss sustainable partnerships for grassroots climate action.
The meeting, held at the Ministry in Accra, forms part of Queen Titiaka’s flagship project, “Empowering Communities for Climate Action,” aimed at tackling Ghana’s pressing environmental challenges through education, afforestation, recycling, clean cooking, and community-led waste management.

In a cordial and forward-looking engagement, Queen Titiaka shared insights into her vision of building a climate-resilient Ghana, one community at a time, by mobilising youth, women, and schools in vulnerable regions. She emphasised the importance of public-private and institutional collaborations in achieving sustainable development goals, especially in climate-sensitive sectors.
Hon. Murtala Muhammed, who received the delegation warmly, commended Queen Titiaka for leveraging her platform to advance environmental consciousness.

He lauded the EcoGreen Oases Legacy initiative for its innovation and grassroots focus, pledging the Ministry’s readiness to support and collaborate on impactful, community-centred climate actions.
He intimated that it is refreshing to see young leaders like Queen Titiaka take up the mantle of environmental stewardship. He further acknowledged that his Ministry is open to partnerships that align with the national strategy for sustainability and climate resilience.
The Former SRC Women’s Commissioner and Face of UPSA, Queen Nihad Titiaka, in her remarks, expressed deep appreciation to the Minister and his team for their guidance and encouragement. “This is more than a meeting; it is a shared commitment to future generations. We believe that working together, we can reshape the narrative on climate action, starting from the local level.”

The EcoGreen Oases Legacy initiative, launched earlier this year following her historic win as Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) 2024, has already begun mobilising schools and youth groups for climate-focused education and behavioural change campaigns. Plans are underway for tree-planting drives, recycling bootcamps, and clean cooking awareness tours across Ghana.
With the Ministry’s endorsement and potential support, Queen Titiaka’s campaign is set to gain more national traction as an example of youth-led innovation in environmental governance. Also present at the meeting were Ms. Cynthia Asare Bediako, the Chief Director of the Ministry; and Mrs. Anthoinet Ohene-Amoah & Mr. Andre Kwasi Sarpong from EcoGreen Oases Legacy.

As Ghana faces increasing climate vulnerability, initiatives like Empowering Communities for Climate Action stand as vital reminders that change can begin with empowered citizens and inclusive leadership.
