Government is being blamed for what is seen as the imminent collapse of the Pozzolana Cement Factory.Workers of the factory at Gomoa Mprumem in the Central Region dread a total shutdown barely four months after production commenced.Nearly half of the 85-member workforce has been dismissed. Managers say they are finding it difficult to sell the product despite its acclaim.“Our company directors have told us that they are going to shut this company down. If government can come in and talk to the contractors and ministers to encourage the use of the product I think it will be helpful to the people of Ghana and we the workers," one of the workers told Joy News.Another expressed worry about increasing failure of Ghanaians to patronize Ghanaian goods.Managers are blaming government for their inability to sustain the plant.General Manager, Charles Komla Hebgo, says government must honour a promise to purchase cement produced by the factory to help it out of its present predicament.Source: Joy News/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
