Government has declared Friday December 4, 2015 a public holiday.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Interior Minister James Agalga, Friday has been declared holiday to mark the annual Farmers’ Day.
“December 4, 2015 is Farmers’ Day, a statutory Public Holiday and must be observed as such throughout the country.” the statement read.
The National Farmers Day is commemorated each year on the first Friday of December to honour Farmers and Fishers in the country.
Open gatherings are organized in the ten regions across Ghana to award prizes to deserving farmers and fishers as far as best practices and outputs are concerned.
This year's National Farmers Day Celebration will be held in the Upper East Regional.
