The Graphic Communications Group Limited and Multi TV are inviting members of the general public to a 12-hour national all-night prayer session dubbed 12-Hour Prayerthon 2013.The non-denominational intercessory prayer night comes off on Friday, August 30, at 8 pm to 8 am on Saturday, August 31 at the Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC), near Kwame Nkrumah Circle.Organised under the theme: ‘Peace and Prosperity in our Land’, the organisers said the prayer and worship encounter is scripturally based at Psalm 33:12, which says "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for His own inheritance”.Christians from all denominations in and around Accra are expected to participate in the prayer session at the ATTC Auditorium.It will also bring on board those in other parts of Ghana and beyond via the power of television live on Multi TV’s Jesus Channel, a statement issued by the organisers has said.“The event is under the auspices of the Christian Council of Ghana, Catholic Bishops Conference, Pentecostal and Charismatic Council and the National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches,” it further added.To lead in prayer on the night will be selected men of God in the country who will be assigned various topics, including the peace of Ghana after the delivery of the Supreme Court judgment, national unity, Supreme Court judges, petitioners and respondents, acceptance of results by political parties, among others.The August 30 programme which aims at mobilizing all Ghanaians on one big platform to intercede for the nation for the sake of peace and stability before and after the Supreme Court judgment on the election petition on Thursday, August 29, will precede the third annual 24-hour prayer session dubbed ‘Prayerthon 2013-Heal Our Land’ to be held in November.And ahead of the 12-hour Prayerthon, according to the statement, will be the call to midnight prayer for all Ghanaians on Wednesday, August 28 and Thursday, August 29, 2013. “Additionally as a collective Ghanaians will pray using the power of Teleconference, social media and SMS technology led by Pastors also on Multi TV from 11 pm to midnight on each of these nights.“Moderating the programme will be a studio panel of pastors who will lead Ghanaians to pray for the nation, while receiving prayer topics from all over the country and abroad via the various radio channels, online streaming, sms, social media, phone-ins and emails.“All churches and the various religious and social groups in the country are being invited to join other believers to cry unto God for the peace, stability and prosperity of Ghana our motherland. Any Radio and TV Station who is interested in partnering Graphic and Multi TV can also contact us to be part of this national assignment to divinely secure the Peace of Ghana.”
