Leader of the GROHE Installer Vocational Training and Education (GIVE) Programme, Christopher Penney has expressed his excitement at the inauguration of Ghana’s premier GIVE training facility in Accra.

The initiative is aimed at equipping young persons with the requisite skillset and knowledge for the sanitary industry,

The state-of-the-art facility, established in partnership with the Accra Technical Training Centre, is expected to accommodate and train Ghanaian youth for successful plumbing careers in the sanitary industry whiles upgrading the skillset of already existing artisans in the field.

As part of the GIVE program, GROHE supports plumbing schools in creating a state-of-the-art training framework by installing modern training facilities and providing learning material and experienced technical trainers.

Speaking at the event, Mr Penney said that in addition to equipping young talents with the requisite skills for the sanitary industry, GIVE was keen on helping many young persons attain a better life.

“The GIVE Programme   will provide the avenue to consolidate all our professional training efforts whiles giving a host of young people access to a better life. In as much as GIVE is geared towards the grooming of young people for the sanitary industry, it is also a means through which the lives of many socially disadvantaged in society has been impacted positively in several parts of the world.  As the Programme’s name implies, giving back to society is vital for us at GROHE,” he said.

Principal of the Accra Technical Training Center (ATTC), Mr. Arko Dometey lauded GROHE for the training facility describing it as a game-changer for Technical & Vocational Education & Training (TVET) in Ghana.

According to him, the training facility would play a critical role in the provision of   theoretical and practical instruction for already existing and upcoming plumbers as may be required from time to time.

“It is an established fact that existence well-resource training facilities with the right programmes is key to attracting and retaining many talents in the sanitary industry. We are therefore confident this training facility would go a long way in ensuring that a host of already existing and trainee plumbers in Ghana are in touch with the latest trends and innovation of the sanitary industry,’’ he said.
