The Eastern Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed confidence in the leadership style of president John Mahama  and has urged his colleagues to be apostles of successes chalked by the government.

The newly elected Chairman, Bismark Tawiah Boateng, noted that it was time members of the NDC started preaching the good works of government to masses in order to clear doubts in the minds of Ghanaians that it (government) since not achieved any significant goal since it took office.

Addressing foot soldiers who thronged his residence to congratulate him for winning the chairmanship slot for the eastern regional NDC,

Tawiah Boateng noted even though the NDC is on course to delivering its campaign promises party members seem to have failed to tout the achievements of their government.

According to the NDC Chairman, president Mahama has chalked many successes in the area of education, health, energy among many sectors of the economy.

He mentioned the establishment of the university of environment and sustainable resource which is set to commence next year in Somanya and Donkorkrom, the construction of new senior high schools in the various parts of the country, the expansion of electricity to most of part of rural Ghana to mention but a few.

"Comrades let me tell you this government has achieved so much in the two years it took office. We have been able to make giant strides in the areas of energy, education, communication, health and many more. All we ought to do as party members and foot soldiers is to go down there and start telling Ghanaians what we have done. You know our opponents are bent on taking over power from us so they go about telling people we have not achieved anything significant", he explained.

The regional chairman was certain that the new ministry of power set up to deal with the energy challenges confronting the nation has indeed come at the right time.

"You see the government really appreciate the challenges facing our energy sector that's why he's set up the new ministry to deal with the 'Dumsor'. I trust that Dr.Kwabena Donkor who is to head the new minstry has vast knowledge about Ghana's energy situation and will deliver",  Mr.Boateng added.

He assured the grassroots of the party  of his resolve to ensuring that the NDC gets 50% of the votes in the region during the next general election.

"I am not the office type. We are going down there to preach to the people and convince them to give their votes to NDC.I am very optimistic that the eastern votes will be shared 50.50. I don't agree the region is their (NPP) stronghold because we are now doing 43% and it keeps improving after every election", he said.
