League leaders Hearts of Oak suffered their fourth defeat in five matches when they were humiliated 3-1 by Gamba All Blacks at the Swedru Sports Stadium yesterday.
However, the Phobians continued to sit at the apex of the league with 45 points but the gap between Hearts and the second placed Kotoko and third placed King Faisal has been narrowed to four points.
With five matches to end the league, the race has now been thrown open as any of the first four place teams can win the league.
All Blacks who were in total control of the game, improved their standings in the league as they occupy the 13th position with 33 points on the Glo Premier League.
Striker Abubakari Mahadi put Hearts in front but Bismark Idun equalized for the Black Magicians before Charles Ampiah put them ahead. Former Hearts player Joe Louis scored the third goal for All Blacks.
Asante Kotoko continued their chase of the league title as they defeated Bechem Chelsea 1-0 at the Sunyani Coronation Park. Striker Stephen Manu scored the only goal in the 88th minute after coming on as a substitute.
Elsewhere, King Faisal also intensified their chase for the league when they won 2-0 at home to Kessben FC. Briton Steve Pollack’s side scored both goals through Abdul Samad Oppong. Kessben now lie 12th on the league.
Ashgold also continued their revival in the league as they won 2-0 at home to Berekum Arsenal.
Undoubtedly, Coach David Duncan has brought a massive wind of change to the Aboakese lads as Emmanuel Adjetey and Fred Quayson got the two goals. Ashgold are now 10th on the league.
