The Children’s Support Fund, established to care for the children of victims of the August 6, 2025 helicopter crash, has so far received GH₵8,600,905 and US$20,000 in donations.
The update, released on Friday, October 17, and signed by Dr Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, detailed the latest contributions made between 23 September and October 12.
According to the statement, donations were received from a number of organisations and individuals, including the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, BOST Energies, Bui Power Authority, Energy Commission, and the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company Limited. Others are Kow Eduakwa Sam, Israel Quarme Arye, Timothy Addai Adivilah Balagkutu, Augustus Obuadum Tanoh, and the Agencies of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
The Fund was set up following the tragic helicopter crash on August 6, which claimed the lives of eight individuals, including cabinet Ministers. It aims to provide sustained welfare and educational support for their children.
Dr Sawyerr, who coordinates the Fund, said the contributions reflect the compassion and solidarity shown by Ghanaians and institutions towards the affected families.
She also encouraged more donations to support the ongoing welfare efforts. “Donations may be made to the Fund via the following Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited accounts (Stanbic Heights Branch, Accra): Ghana Cedi (GHS) Account: 9040013628372 and US Dollar (USD) Account: 9040013628534,” the statement said.
It added that cheques and bank drafts should be made payable to “Children Support Fund 6825,” while MoMo payments can also be made through designated payment platforms attached to the statement.
