The Greater Accra Regional Minister Henry Quartey, has dedicated part of his salary to support veteran actor Psalm Adjeteyfio, following a viral video that show the actor crying for help.
In a letter written to the actor, popularly called TT, Mr Quartey revealed that GHS1,500 from his salary as a Member of Parliament will be sent to the bank account of the actor.
This directive, he said, is effective from September, 2021 and ends on January 7, 2025, when his tenure in the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic is over.
This comes after the Taxi Driver TV series actor, in a viral interview, appealed for GH¢3,000 to enable him to pay his rent or risk being evicted.

TT, as he is popularly called, revealed that after years of his acting career, he had nothing to show for it and now survives on the benevolence of others.
He stated that he had spent GH¢6,000 on hospital bills and medication, adding that the assistance from family and friends had dwindled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He disclosed he has become a charity case and will be evicted soon if help does not locate him.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister told Mr Adjeteyfio his donation was inspired by the veteran’s positive impact in the movie and entertainment industry “where you distinguished yourself.”
Mr Quartey stated “kindly make details of your account available to my secretariat to facilitate the smooth transfers. I count on your usual cooperation in this regard for the furtherance of my request.”

Meanwhile, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has also offered to assist Mr Adjeteyfio with some money.
A post made by Krobea Kwabena Asante on Facebook revealed that the spokesperson of the Vice President, Dr Gideon Boako, paid a visit to the presenter who interviewed Mr Adjeteyfio to donate GH¢50,000 to the actor.
About GH¢30,000 of the money is expected to pay for the actor’s rent for five years, and ¢20,000 would be spent on his upkeep.
Also, the CEO of McDan Group of Companies Daniel McKorley has also reportedly supported the actor with GHS5,000.00.
