The Techiman Municipal branch of Ghana Hoteliers Association has commended the Municipal Assembly for involving its members in deliberations, particularly, with fee fixing resolution.
The Association noted with satisfaction that its demand for the reduction of fees, as well as adoption of a common participation in the fee-fixing over the past three years had yielded positive results.
Mr Philip Kofi Ntiamoah, Chairman of Brong-Ahafo regional branch of the Association, told the Ghana News Agency that the Assembly’s recent resolution not to increase property rates and operational licenses for the 2008 fiscal year was prudent and commendable.
He intimated that the Assembly’s decision would also ensure that hoteliers maintained their existing hotel tariffs to make life bearable for the ordinary people.
Mr Ntiamoah cautioned hoteliers and football fans to guard against violence during the Ghana 2008 soccer fiesta.
