The Ghana Center for Entrepreneurship, Employment and Innovation is pleased to announce a unique intervention dubbed the "How To Be An Entrepreneur Campus Series", a Free Business Finance Workshop to identify, train and connect aspiring and budding entrepreneurs with key skills that redefine business models but also in a series of workshops with varied speakers from various sectors from sports, media, fashion, publishing, law to expose Startups, SME's and aspiring entrepreneurs to the opportunities, challenges and key skills needed in emerging sectors/markets for any business to succeed.
The non-involvement of industry in the human capital development process and the low commitment of policy makers to the promotion of technical and vocational skills training add to challenges confronting human capital development in the Ghana and across the region.
These observations by the African Center for Economic Transformation are not only apt but are timely to remind Government and stakeholders of the need for an increased effort to address the non-involvement of industry in the human capital development process and the low commitment of policy makers to the promotion of technical and vocational skills training to address the challenges confronting human capital development in Ghana.
The availability of sufficient quality human resource is a major prerequisite for economic transformation. However, currently, the quality of human resource in Africa is poor in comparison with other regions.
Our educational system produces students with weak creative instincts, poor problem solving aptitude and an inability to deal with problems in the world of work.
While the provision and creation of jobs is a key issue in Africa, the most job creators within the Youth, Startup and SME bracket lack the needed capacity, skills and training to effectively start, grow and scale their ideas while attracting the needed financing for their breakthrough ideas.
The How To Be AN Entrepreneur Campus Tour takes off on the 17th of March 2016 from 2pm GMT at the Ghana Institute for Public Administration (GIMPA) and will visit 3 other regions in its quest to build the capacity of Entrepreneurs in areas such as marketing, technology integration, attracting funding, building the right team, Personal and Business Branding Understanding the legalities in Business among others.
