When safety is compromised in a place meant for healing, the impact extends far beyond the facility's walls. It affects families, communities, and public trust.
In the wake of the widely reported security incident at Mamprobi Polyclinic in which a newborn was taken from the maternity ward by an individual who disguised herself as a nurse, Virtual Security Africa (VSA) chose not to stand on the sidelines.
What followed was not silence or deflection, but decisive, meaningful action —swift, structured, and anchored in a genuine commitment to public safety.
Within days of the incident, the leadership of Virtual Security Africa, led by CEO Emmanuel Asiedu, engaged hospital management through a delegation not merely as a service provider, but as a committed partner in restoring confidence and safety.
The response was guided by a clear belief: responsibility in moments of crisis must be met with empathy, action, and long-term solutions.
A high-level delegation from VSA paid an official visit to Mamprobi Polyclinic to commiserate with hospital leadership and staff, listen to their concerns, and offer direct support.
Management of the clinic, led by Medical Superintendent Dr Henrietta Fiscian, expressed profound gratitude, noting that VSA was the first private entity to provide tangible support since the incident.
As a heartfelt gesture of solidarity, Virtual Security Africa made a generous financial donation to the baby's mother.
This contribution reflected not only immediate humanitarian care, but VSA’s deeper conviction that the safety and peace of mind of patients and families is inseparable from its mission as a security technology company.
Beyond Empathy: A Full Security Transformation
VSA’s intervention extended far beyond immediate support. With the full consent and gratitude of hospital management, the company conducted a comprehensive security assessment of the facility and committed to a complete overhaul and upgrade of the clinic’s CCTV surveillance system at no cost to the hospital.
The upgrade will deliver:
- Installation of new high-definition cameras across all critical areas, including maternity wards, entrances, and corridors
- Enhanced real-time monitoring and incident review capabilities for hospital leadership and security personnel
- A comprehensive security assessment with actionable recommendations for hospital management
- A long-term surveillance framework designed for institutional resilience and prevention
This is not a temporary intervention. It is a structural enhancement, a lasting commitment to ensuring that what happened once will not happen again.
Corporate Social Responsibility with Purpose
This initiative forms part of Virtual Security Africa’s 18th Anniversary Corporate Social Responsibility programme — a milestone that the company has chosen to mark not with ceremony, but with impact.
VSA’s realignment of its CSR focus to address this urgent community need demonstrates that its commitment to Ghana runs deeper than business.

Who We Are: Security Built for Ghana’s Realities
For nearly two decades, Virtual Security Africa has pursued a clear vision: to become a trusted leader in integrated electronic security and surveillance systems across Africa.
As a wholly Ghanaian-owned company with nationwide operations, VSA understands the realities of both the public and private sectors — including tight budgets, high expectations, and zero tolerance for failure.
Its solutions are designed to be cost-effective, scalable, and suitable for mission-critical environments such as healthcare, education, government institutions, and public spaces.
VSA believes personal and institutional security is no longer optional — it is essential for safety.
A Partner for Safer Healthcare Across Ghana
Virtual Security Africa remains committed to partnering with health facilities nationwide to create safer spaces for mothers, children, and staff.
For facilities with existing surveillance systems, VSA offers professional security assessments, upgrades, repairs, and periodic maintenance at affordable rates to ensure existing equipment remains reliable and effective.
For facilities looking to acquire new systems without the burden of high upfront costs, VSA also provides flexible lease-to-own options, making it easier for hospitals and clinics to own modern, high-quality electronic security infrastructure.
