Scott Evans says he has been able to read the New Testament from Matthew to Revelation, after he became a born-again.

Fast-rising urban gospel musician, Scott Evans, has recounted a period of his life in 2010 when he became a born-again Christian through a friend.

It was a rare, yet unexpected encounter he had with one gentleman that changed his entire journey with Christ after he joined his father at one International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) branch in Accra.

“He introduced me to Jesus, he led me to Christ, and I became born-again. I remember one time when I was in school, he told me to meditate on the word of God day and night, and asked me to be consistent on it,” Scott said.

In an interview with Fifi Folson on Joy FM’s The Reason is Jesus, Sunday, the musician stated that he devoted time read a chapter of the Bible every day, under the influence of his new friend.

Throughout his secondary education, Scott read chapters of the New Testament from Matthew to Revelation, the last book and that, he said, reflects in the kind of songs he writes and produces.

“My dad loves to go to church early so I went to sit in front of a very large auditorium but less than 20 people. I was standing in front when one gentleman walked in to tell me that place was for the old people so I should join the youth church – he walked me out from the main church to the youth church.

“The youth church was under a canopy at the entrance of the church. He said what you could do is that every day when you’re going to school, just pick one chapter from the Bible and read. When you read, make sure you understand that chapter and pick a verse, and meditate on that verse,” he added.

Scott Evans was nominated in the Best New Artiste of the Year as well as the Best Gospel Song categories for the 2022 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

Scott Evans, a University of Ghana graduate, is also into shipping business.

According to him, his nomination was a huge credit to his brand as a musician, saying it was an upliftment of his brand and will propel him to keep working harder.

“It feels good, it feels fulfilling, ultimately. I think it’s a desire of every artiste to be acknowledged when there is hard work or when there is consistency or when there is a good project.

“I’m glad and I’m excited that in the fullness of time, God has rewarded me. It is God who touches the hearts of people, it is God who opens the eyes of men to see the good works that we are doing,” he told Fifi Folson.
