Chairman of the People's National Convention (PNC) Bernard Mornah says his invitation by the Ghana Police Service over an alleged threat on the Electoral Commission is politically motivated.
This according to him is due to the fact that the process was initiated only after a call for his arrest by the Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan.
Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service on Thursday, May 28, 2020, invited Mr. Mornah for questioning over some pronouncements he made against the Electoral Commission (EC) which they deem as a threat.
He is expected to appear before the CID on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.
In the letter, sighted by JoyNews and signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, (DCOP) Barima Tweneboah Sasraku II, Mr. Mornah has allegedly vowed to resist every attempt by the EC to compile a new voters' register.

“People who are already Ghanaians and already registered are going to be taken out of the voters’ register.
"Don’t think confusion will come at the registration station but if confusion comes there, you think the EC staff will be safe?
"We will beat each other there and will kill each other there if that is what the EC wants to lead this nation into,” the letter quoted Mr. Mornah as saying.
But reacting to the letter in an interview with JoyNews' Kwesi Parker-Wilson, Mr. Mornah said he is not perturbed by the development.
According to him, while the invitation will be honored, he does not regret his utterance, hence will not retract.
‘They (CID) must be assured that I am not departing from any word that I uttered because the Electoral Commission's actions are going to lead to confusion.
"And when there is confusion at our registration centers, even the staff of the Electoral Commission will not be safe from the confusion.
"I insist there will be confusion. If I warn you about the dangers and you invite me, I will come and repeat them," he said.
