Music icon Knii Lantey has said he writes songs to echo the feelings of everyday people.
“I am inspired by things evolving around to write songs. I watch the news and get songs from it”, he revealed.
The ‘Loving you’ hitmaker was talking about the type of music he does as part of promoting his new singles with Joy Primes’ Jay Foley on Friday.
The physician specialist shared why he did a song titled ‘Humanity’.
“I was touched by the impact of Covid-19 after watching a documentary about the Pandemic. It affected frontline health workers who were working to save people. My song outlines the cry for support at the time”, the Reggae, Soul, Afro-Pop Musician said.
The songwriter believes this makes him versatile and makes him relevant in the evolving music industry.
He came into the limelight when he featured on fellow reggae musician Black Rasta's song titled ‘Obama’.
The award-winning composer also featured on Micheal Dwamena's ‘Ngozi’ and has since released hit songs.
With the Best Music Video of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2014 to his credit, he has released two new songs titled ‘Boot Off’ and ‘This Thing’ to announce his comeback after a short career break.
“After the death of my manager, Nana Turkson, I had to restart again. So I went off the music scene to take new turns to encompass all Genres of music to inspire more”, he revealed.
Talking about creativity in music, he highlighted that music is dynamic, but his ability to play both guitar and piano enables him to do all types of Music.
‘Boot off’ is a reggae song, whilst ‘This Thing’ is an Afrobeat song. The variety is to spies up what I have for the funs”, according to him.
