The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) celebrates 42 years of steady growth, far-reaching influence and a teaching ministry that has shaped generations across Ghana and beyond.
Founded on February 26, 1984, by Pastor Mensa Otabil, the Church has grown from a local assembly into a global family — distinguished by its unwavering commitment to the teaching of the Word of God and its mandate to raise leaders, shape visions, and influence society through Christ.
From the beginning, Pastor Otabil’s focus has been clear and consistent: to teach Scripture with depth, clarity and practical relevance. That commitment has produced a church culture grounded in knowledge, discipline and purpose. For over four decades, the pulpit of ICGC has trained believers to think biblically, live responsibly and lead with excellence in every sphere of life.
Today, the influence of that teaching is evident in the many men and women serving in ministry, business, governance, academia and industry — individuals whose leadership values have been shaped by the message they received.
Platforms That Have Defined the Ministry
ICGC’s growth has been driven not only by its weekly services but also by strategic gatherings that have become landmarks on the Christian calendar.
The Greater Works Conference has evolved into one of the most impactful Christian gatherings, drawing thousands and bringing renewal and empowerment to the Body of Christ.
God’s Summit is dedicated to deepening Christians’ understanding of their faith, grounding believers in sound doctrine and strengthening their walk with Christ.
Through the Doulos Conference, the Church continues to raise committed and effective ministry workers, strengthening its structure and expanding its reach.

Each year, Crossover provides spiritual direction and alignment, setting the tone for the year ahead.
A Teaching Ministry Without Borders
ICGC’s message extends far beyond its auditoriums through its strong media presence.
Through Living Word, Word To Go and Christian Conversations, the teaching ministry of Pastor Mensa Otabil reaches homes, offices and nations — offering biblical insight, leadership wisdom and a Christ-centred response to contemporary issues. These platforms ensure that the influence of ICGC is not confined to a physical location, but continues to shape lives globally.
Faith in Action — Impacting Lives Beyond the Pulpit
ICGC’s influence is not only spiritual and intellectual; it is also deeply social. Through Central Aid, the Church consistently demonstrates the practical love of Christ by responding to critical needs in society.
Its annual support for the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Cancer Unit has provided essential medical equipment and resources that have contributed to saving thousands of lives. The Church has also made significant interventions in mental health care, supporting institutions and restoring hope and dignity to many.
These initiatives — alongside other outreach programmes in health, education and community development — reflect ICGC’s conviction that the gospel must bring transformation to every area of life.
The Theme for the Year — The Kingdom Year
The theme for the year, The Kingdom Year, captures the present emphasis of the Church — a call for believers to advance the rule, values and influence of Christ in every sphere of life. It reflects ICGC’s long-standing message that faith must be expressed through leadership, responsibility and societal transformation.
A Legacy Still Growing
Forty-two years on, ICGC stands as one of the most influential ministries to emerge from Ghana — a church that has remained consistent in doctrine, strong in structure and clear in purpose.
Its story is seen in:
• lives transformed by the power of the Word
• leaders raised with integrity and excellence
• a message that continues to shape global thinking
• communities impacted through intentional social action
As it steps into the future, ICGC’s focus remains unchanged —
to keep teaching the Word,
to keep raising leaders,
and to keep influencing society through Christ.
ICGC at 42 — built on the Word, raising leaders and advancing the Kingdom as a global church movement
