National Security operatives have uncovered a huge quantity of sodium cyanide in a residential facility in a special operation in Kumasi.
It is suspected to be used by small-scale and illegal miners, though only large scale mining firms are permitted to apply the toxic chemical in their operations.
The haul of the consignment said to worth millions of cedis follows intelligence which led a task force to what appears to be an un-inhabited building at Maxima.

According to Luv FM's Kwasi Debrah, names of Ghanaians and some Chinese, are already popping up in connection with the haul.
Security personnel were compelled by a heavy downpour to suspend carting the toxic substance contained in large wooden boxes to the police Station.
Security sources say an unnamed owner of the house has been invited for questioning, after a suspected associate allegedly attempted to bribe the task force.
As at 10pm last night when Kwasi Debrah filed this report, armed personnel had been deployed to mount surveillance at the scene.
