Wiyaala is also building a cultural theatre in Funsi and training the village’s next generation to sing and dance.

Afropop singer and songwriter Noella Wiyaala has revealed that it is easy for her to do live performances.

She explained that the platform gives her the room to explore and add new things to the song.

“Performing recorded song is difficult; you have to sing according to the lines, but live performance gives room to explore and add new things to the song”, she said.

Speaking with Jay Foley on Prime Morning on Friday, the ‘Yaga Yaga’ hitmaker said, after recording a song, new things come to mind about the track, and the only chance to effect the changes is during a live performance.

Wiyaala is currently in France preparing for a European tour scheduled for early 2022. The multiple award-winning artists will perform live songs in yet to be named countries.

She established a solo career in 2013 with the hit single ‘Rock My Body’, which won her two awards at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), 2014.

The ‘Africa’ hitmaker began her international touring career in 2015 with performances at the Hague African Festival in The Netherlands and The Afrikadey Festival in Calgary, Canada.

In 2016 Wiyaala performed at WOMAD UK, where the Irish Times noted: "Feisty is not the word – she is a powerhouse in the mode of a young Angelique Kidjo, Effervescent and funny”.

She indicated that the 2022 tour will come with surprises. The early preparation is to rehearse her songs with the band and other artists on board. This is because she will perform live Songs.

“I have to rehearse ahead because I want to impress the fans with live performance”, according to the 'Lioness' singer.
