Evangelist and founder of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, Reverend Canon Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, has stated how he draws presidents and other political figures to his major crusades.
According to him, politicians are attracted to crowds and are therefore unable to decline invitations to crowded events.
Since late President Jerry John Rawlings' administration, the man of God has effortlessly hosted every president of Ghana and the majority of politicians at his gospel crusades, even though other preachers struggle to do so.
Speaking on Joy Prime’s morning show on Wednesday, Dr. Lawrence Tetteh indicated that although he sometimes does not invite them, they see the necessity to attend.
"I don’t get them to attend; they need to attend. Don’t forget that politicians love the crowd. It is only an unwise politician who would deny the crowd," he told Roselyn Felli.
As to whether he grants them the platform to campaign at the event, he said, "No, but just their presence there makes sense to them."
He recounted how President Akufo-Addo, in 2016, during his contest for the presidency, showed up early at one of his major crusades even before himself.
He further revealed that the late president John Evans Atta Mills spent time in his house and prayed for strength when he was sick.
He, however, stressed that he is able to attain all this through God's anointing and integrity, which he said are key in the gospel ministry.
Considering the outstanding relationship he has built with the majority of politicians in Ghana and beyond, the reverend minister said it is an inspiration from American evangelist, Billy Graham.
Dr. Lawrence Tetteh believes that his personality and lifestyle have also influenced the connections he has developed with these political enthusiasts.
