Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah was adjudged Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAAs) which was held in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday November 2, 2024.
She was awarded for her role in 'Red Carpet', a movie producer by filmmaker and costume designer Samira Yakubu, who also happens to be Jackie's manager.
Directed by Frank Rajah Arase, 'Red Carpet' also features Grace Omaboe, Selly Ghally, Kalsoume Sinare, Roseline Ngissah, Adjetey Annang, Abeiku Santana, Deyemi Okanlawon and Beverly Afaglo.
This is not the first time Jackie Appiah has won an AMAA. In 2007 she won her first award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Beyonce' at the African Movie Academy Awards.
In 2010, she won Best Actress in a Leading Role award for 'The Perfect Picture' produced by Shirley Frimpong Manso. Since then he has also received several nominations for roles plays in various movies.
Jackie has over the years, distinguished herself with her exceptional acting skills and brand positioning.
Jackie is also known for movies such as The Love Doctor, Royal Battle, Chasing Hope, Princess, The Prince's Bride, Fake Feelings, Wind of Love, Total Love, Passion of the Soul, Mortal Desire, Pretty Queen, and The King is Mine.
