Ghana striker Jordan Ayew says he is honoured to have staged a comeback to the national team ahead of their crucial 2014 World Cup first leg play off against Egypt on October 15.
The Olympique Marseille striker has been on a blistering form but was not handed a call up for Ghana’s last game against Zambia despite making himself available for international football.
Jordan’s inclusion becomes his first call up to the Black Stars after he was overlooked by coach Kwasi Appiah for the 2013 Nations Cup in South Africa.
“It is an honour to be back for the national team because it is the dream of every player to play for his country,” the 22-year-old said.
“Every player would love to play in big games like this so is a great honour for me to be handed a call up.
“I’m coming back to give my hundred percent for the team and we will see how it goes but we have to be focused and I’m sure there will not be any problem in winning the game.”
