Joy Business's Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) focused programme, Joy Business Van (JBV) has won another award for Best SME Reportage at this year’s SME Ghana Awards.
The award scheme was instituted by Imagine8 Company Limited in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI) in 2013 to celebrate the country’s best performing SMEs, individuals of entrepreneurial excellence and other sector support agencies.
This is the second time JBV has won this award and the third award since the programme started airing in 2014.
The 3-minute on-the-ground feature presented by Joy Business’ Daryl Kwawu is designed to give SMEs and startups visibility, highlight their issues, potential markets and support.
In May this year, the programme also started showing a segment on TV and a brand new bus was acquired with the support of Ghana’s best 4G LTE provider Busy to give it more visibility and make it recognizable on the ground.

“The Joy Business Van has brought innovation to business reporting and the impact the program is making cannot be over-emphasized”, Project Lead for the SME Ghana Awards, Kwesi Ofori Junior said.
In April this year, the Joy Business Van was awarded Business Support Programme of the Year at the Ghana Entrepreneurs Awards.
“We are elated by this award. It’s a challenge to do more and expand our coverage. We are extremely grateful to our sponsors Busy for their support,” presenter of the programme Daryl Kwawu said.
The event organized at the Banquet Hall of the State House had the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Murtala Mohammed, UK High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin as special guests.
It was held under the theme, “Sustaining Ghana’s SMEs in a Globally Competitive Market; through local support for Made in Ghana Products”.
