Weddings are intense. From the outside, it’s pomp and pageantry. The grand dress. The extravagant venue. Music galore. And cake – lots of cake.
But from within, it’s a bride terrified about how the day will unfold.
"Does my dress fit okay?"
"Is the bridal party in order?"
"Oh, and the food. Have the caterers arrived?"
Fear no more, because Joy FM has continued its 15-year-long annual tradition of the Beauty and Bridal Fair, an exhibition filled with everything you need to ensure your wedding day flows smoothly. The four-day exclusive event, held at the Accra Conference Centre, will be held from Thursday, July 12 – Sunday, July 15 and presents clients with a diverse platform of goods and services, from table arrangements to dresses to honeymoon packages and everything in between.
To kick off the show, an opening ceremony featured the make-believe fairytale wedding of Joy FM’s top media personalities Lexis Bill and Mapitso Sebidi, who both dazzled crowds as they made their grand entrance down the aisle and cut the tape at the event's entrance, marking it officially open.
"Weddings are a big deal in Ghana," said Sammy Forson, a Joy FM’s personality who was a groomsmen at the wedding. “[The event] is important because you need to come and find out exactly how much weddings cost. It can help shape out of you budget.”
The program is expected to draw in thousands of patrons and will include a fashion show Saturday featuring Joy FM’s Baaba Tandoh and DJ Snake.
Following the show, Ghana’s top relationship experts will hold a marriage seminar for future brides and grooms as they prep for their epic day.

Sponsors of the event include Ruby’s Bridal, Rana Motors, Pepsi, 9twnety5, Qrious Cakes and Angels Beauty Supply.
