A journalist with The Multimedia Group, Blessed Sogah has been selected by the United States of America’s State Department to participate in the International Reporting Tour on Security and Economic Prosperity in the Indo-Pacific Region for 25 journalists from around the world.
The tour which is taking place from Tuesday, July 11 through to Friday, July 21, 2023 is aimed at highlighting U.S. commitment to supporting the security and economic prosperity of allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region and messaging collective solidarity in the face of an increasingly aggressive regional posture by some emerging economies.
The 10-day tour will see participants go to California to meet with state commerce representatives, U.S.-Asian joint ventures, and members of the academic and security communities. Also reporters will then travel to Hawaii to meet with U.S. military representatives, security experts, think tanks, and government organizations. The tour will conclude on Friday, July 21, 2023.
After a rigorous nomination process which opened in June this year for journalists all over the world, Blessed Sogah emerged as the only Journalist from Africa to make it unto the list of shortlisted applicants.
“We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected for the 10-day International Reporting Tour on Security and Economic Prosperity in the Indo-Pacific Region by the Washington Foreign Press Center July 11-21, 2023,” an official statement from the U.S embassy in Accra indicated while congratulating Blessed for his latest achievement.

”exemplifies America’s role as a promoter of freedom and liberty in the world” while adding that his tour in the U.S provides an opportunity for the Superpower to be reflected through the prism of independent African journalistic perspective.
