JoyNews will on Monday, August 16, premiere its latest documentary "Crushed Young."

The documentary was produced by Seth Kwame Boateng, as part of efforts to address the increasing number of road accidents in the country.

It tells the story of how children have been left with permanent disabilities after being knocked down by vehicles.

The documentary features 13-year-old Moses who has been amputated following a road crash.

He has already undergone eight surgeries and has two more to undergo.

Narrating how the unfortunate incident happened, he said he was knocked down by a vehicle one day while buying food from the roadside.

Another child Kofi (not his real name) also shared how his happened at the age of six.

He was driven from school by a teacher who asked him to go home and return with his feeding fee of GH¢3.

He lived with his grandma who was responsible for catering for his needs.

Kofi knew where his grandma would be at that time (where she often sells) so he decided to go there for the money but unfortunately, when he got there, she was nowhere to be found.

Left with no other option, Kofi proceeded home, perhaps, he was going to find his grandma there. On his way, he was knocked down by a taxi and was left with both legs scattered on the road in a pool of blood.

The documentary tells more stories of children who have suffered similar fates. It will be premiered in Kumasi, at the City Mall at 4:00pm, and subsequently aired on the JoyNews channel at 8:00pm on Monday and 6:30 pm on Tuesday.
