The family of the late Apostle Emeritus Professor Ing. Kwadwo Safo, together with the management and members of the Kristo Asafo Mission, has expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for the support and goodwill extended to them during the funeral and final rites of the renowned industrialist and religious leader.

The appreciation was conveyed by the late Apostle’s daughter, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, during a thanksgiving service at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi to mark the conclusion of the funeral rites.

She commended individuals, institutions, traditional authorities, religious bodies and sympathisers for standing by the family throughout the funeral period.

Adwoa Safo said the overwhelming show of solidarity had provided comfort to the family and helped them give the late Apostle a befitting final farewell.

The service brought together members of the Kristo Asafo Mission, friends, admirers and sympathisers to celebrate his life, faith and contributions to Ghana.

Former Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, was among the dignitaries who attended the thanksgiving service and paid tribute to the late Apostle.

Dr Bawumia described him as a father figure who treated him as one of his sons and consistently offered him counsel and encouragement.

Dr Bawumia also highlighted Apostle Safo’s strong belief in the ability of Africans to develop their own solutions and overcome challenges through innovation and self-confidence.

He said the late industrialist’s life demonstrated the importance of enterprise and determination in advancing society.

The thanksgiving service was also attended by former Chief of Staff Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, former Minister of State S.K. Boafo, former Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive Sam Pyne and other dignitaries.

A rainbow that appeared in the sky during the service became one of the notable moments of the gathering, with several worshippers offering prayers and interpreting the occurrence as a comforting and symbolic moment as the family brought the late Apostle’s funeral rites to a close.

The service ultimately provided an opportunity for the Kristo Asafo community and sympathisers to celebrate the legacy of Apostle Emeritus Professor Ing. Kwadwo Safo and his contributions to religion, technology, industry and national development.
