Kenpong Travel and Tours Limited won the Aviation Tourism Awards at the maiden National Aviation Awards held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra over the weekend.
The awards saw the creme de la creme in the aviation industry being awarded for their exceptional services.
Kenpong Travel and Tours Limited were rewarded for their numerous domestic tour packages they have been promoting across the country.
Also, the Chief Executive Officer of Kenpong Group, Mr Kennedy Agyepong bagged the CEO Of The Year award for his company's contribution in the aviation sector.
Kenpong Travel and Tours got three nominations but won two.
The Chief Operations Officer of Kenpong Group in charge of the Travel and Tours company, Mohammed Alhassan took the awards on behalf of the company and the CEO.
Excited Mr Alhassan said the company was grateful their hard work has been noticed.
"We decided not to just concentrate on ticketing and international tourism but rather strengthen and promote local land African tourism and this has paid off," he said.
"There are beautiful tourists sites in Ghana and in Africa and we encourage people to visit these sites for their tours instead of focusing on Europe, America etc where visas are difficult to get, "he added.
Mr Alhassan hinted that the company will be organizing more tours especially in Ghana and on the continent to promote Ghanaian and African tourism.
