Flagbearer aspirant for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kojo Bonsu, has called on Dr Kwabena Duffour to withdraw his lawsuit against the party.

He wants the former Finance Minister to rather work together to find an amicable solution to the issues surrounding the upcoming presidential and parliamentary primaries.

Mr Bonsu emphasised that he believes Duffuor is seeking a fair and transparent election, and urged the National Executives to continue engaging with stakeholders to ensure that the election is conducted without any obstacles.

"I believe the issues at stake can be resolved internally and amicably in unity. I urge Dr Duffour to exercise patience and look at the interest of the party at large as I know he means no malice or trouble but rather expects the right things to be done for a smooth election which is devoid of any obstacles for all to have a level playing ground," he said in a press release.

This come two days after Kojo Bonsu threw his weight behind Mr Duffuor’s call to postpone May 13 elections.

“They have to postpone the date of the election and rectify it [the alleged anomalies in the album]”, he said on Tuesday evening.

Per his assessment on Kumasi-based OTEC FM last Tuesday, the party risks being slapped with more legal actions if it neglects this concern and proceeds with the May poll.

But in a fresh statement dated May 12, Mr Bonsu expressed hope that all parties involved will work together to ensure that the primaries, scheduled for May 13, are free and fair.
