Boakye Agyarko, the Campaign Manager of the New Patriotic Party flagbearer, says his boss Nana Akufo-Addo is under no obligation to provide proof of his meeting with the UK Prime Minister, David Cameron, during his recent visit to that country. Reports in the media have quoted the NPP General Secreatary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie (Sir John) as saying that Nana Akufo-Addo had a discussion with the UK Prime Minister over his (Cameron’s) recent threats to cut aid to countries within the commonwealth of nations that fail to respect gay rights. Nana Akufo-Addo is said to have chided the UK Prime Minister over the threats but Communications Director at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho told Joy News on Saturday that he doubts such a meeting ever took place. Mr. Anyidoho, therefore, challenged the NPP flagbearer to produce audio evidence if such a meeting really took place. But Boakye Agyarko said Koku Anyidoho is not in a position to instruct the NPP flagbearer nor the party on what should be done. “He Koku [Anyidoho] is not deserving of a proof. He is not deserving of a proof. If he is worried about Nana Addo meeting Cameron, that is his own cup of tea,” Mr Agyarko said, insisting that “this is not the first time Nana Addo has met Cameron; infact this will be the fourth time they have met and for him to demand proof is preposterous.” Speaking to Joy News, Mr Agyarko said no member of the present administration deserves any form of proof because “they are not our masters in any way, shape or form.” “We as NPP, we are an independent party serving the cause of Ghana and we will do what we have to do so for Koku Anyidoho to demand proof that Nana Addo met David Cameron is to institute himself as master of what we do and to me that is totally ridiculous,” he added.
