Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday extended their lead on the Premier league table when they chalked a 2-0 win over visiting Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi in their 17th week League game.Daniel Nii Adjei scored the opener in the 60th minute after receiving a cross from Michael Mensah who later netted a personal goal to seal the doom of the visitors in the 88th minute when he capitalised on a goal-mouth melee to give Kotoko a comfortable home win to maintain their topmost position on the League log.Liberty made last minute efforts to at least get a consolation goal but their efforts were thwarted by the solid Kotoko defence until the final whistle to send the teeming supporter s of the Porcupine Warriors into wild jubilation. At the Accra Sports Stadium, a stubborn Bechem United managed to run away with a point in their 17th week Premier League match against Accra Hearts of Oak.
Hearts who went into the game with high expectations after beating Kpando Heart of Lions at their home base last Sunday, this time failed to put their expectations into reality as they missed several scoring chances.
Bechem United on the other hand ensured they approached the game with a lot of confidence and caution and succeeded in holding their own and thus leave the Phobians a frustrated side.
