Asante Kotoko is set to begin its trophy hunt for the season by retaining the Otumfuo Challenge Cup they won last year.
The Porcupine Warriors will begin their campaign in the competition with a semi final match against Wa All Stars, Friday.
The Kumasi based club has put up an outstanding performance in preparation for the new Premier League season which begins on September 5.
Kotoko last won the league title in 2008 and are keen on reclaiming their glory.
Head Coach Ebo Mends expects his side to win the domestic league title and rule the continent this season.
“The boys are ready for the Otumfuor Cup. We want it last year so the expectation is very high for us to defend the cup. The target is to win the league. As much as I am building a team I need trophies; I need results.
“…We have set a goal that we have to conquer Ghana and conquer Africa,” Coach Mends assured.
Wa All Stars will battle reigning champions Asante Kotoko in the Otumfuo Challenge Cup semi final today while Hearts of Oak face Ashanti Gold in the other semi final match.
