Ghana midfielder Bennard Kumordzi heralded yet another strong performance to perpetuate his impressive scoring run by scoring the opening goal for KRC Genk in their 2-1 away victory over Mechelen in the Belgian Cup on Tuesday.
The lanky midfield fan-belt display a measure of great technique to collect a through pass from Senegalese team-mate Serigne Kara Mbodji to neatly finish off, planting the ball firmly beyond the reach of the host’s keeper at the Argos Oil Stadion Achter de Kazerne.
Kumordzi’s form is drawing raving reviews over the weeks in Belgium and he is keen to hold on to it.
“It feels great to possess such a form. I’m happy I’m scoring and I hope I maintain it in the coming games,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
The 28-year-old’s calmness and glistening form saw him score against Dynamo Kiev on Thursday in the Uefa Europa League before displaying yet another fabulous performance with a goal against OH Leuven on Sunday at the Cristal Arena.
Kumordzi who spent time in the French top-flight league with Dijon two seasons ago has stumped into the list of impressive Ghanaian performers abroad – a feat he achieved last season after winning the Belgian Cup after scoring in the final.
