Juventus ace Kwadwo Asamoah has assured Ghanaians he will soon end his four-year Black Stars exile.
The 29-year-old last played for the senior national team in 2014 when he featured at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
He has since then either turned down the opportunity or not been called up.
In an interview with Peace FM, Asamoah said he has already informed head coach Kwesi Appiah of his intentions to make a comeback to the team.
He explained that recurring injuries forced him to sideline himself but feel the time is right and will ‘’soon be donning the national colours.’’
Asamoah has been capped 69 times by Ghana since his debut in 2008.
Meanwhile, at club level, it's been another successful campaign for the former Udinese playmaker. He has won his sixth consecutive Serie A title as well as a fourth successive Coppa Italia.
In total, Asamoah has won 13 trophies with Juventus, making him the most decorated Ghanaian player in Europe.
Despite their domestic dominance, Juventus fell short of ending their long wait for a European title as they suffered a quarter-final exit this year.
Juventus were controversially knocked out by Real Madrid after referee Michael Oliver awarded the holders a late penalty which was coolly converted by Ronaldo. The English referee has since become public enemy number one in Turin.
But according to Asamoah, Juventus have moved on from the disappointment and are looking forward to next season.
