Liberty Professionals failed to win the maiden Lagos International Youth tournament after a 2-0 defeat to winners SuperSport United on Saturday.
Liberty dominated play but failed to find the back of the net before the South Africans opened the scoring from the spot.
SuperSport added the second before the break but Liberty had a goal disallowed on the stroke of half-time.
Liberty Professionals finised third on the four-team table.
