Many DJs and radio legends including Silver FM’s Lovin Cee, Pure FM’s Kwame Adinkrah were also honoured for keeping the traditional media alive.
The awards ceremony was held under the theme “Night with the Radio Legends”.
The aim is to give these legends the opportunity to educate young and upcoming DJs and Radio personalities on how to use radio as a means of empowering the society.
Dr. Ernest Kwarko, chairman of the Friends Caucus, said there is a need to honour people who have contributed massively to the growth of traditional media.

The event was also graced by the Kumasi Mayor, Samuel Payne who called on stakeholders to offer more remunerations for these legends.

He said people who have contributed to the growth of traditional media space must be made coaches of the current space holders.

“We still have to look up to these legends. What they have done for the industry is huge. They are not done yet. Let's make them the coaches of the current radio and traditional media space holders” he said.
Other pioneering radio presenters honoured are Patience Dapaah (Patty Daps), Nana Boakye Yiadom, Hammer Nti, Nana Yaw Serbeh, Billy Ocean, Frankie Taylor and Odasani.
Awardees appreciated the efforts of the group in recognising their efforts over the years.
