The Mafi Kumase Senior High Technical School in the Central Tongu District is bubbling with excitement and renewed enthusiasm as hundreds of newly placed students report for admission, marking a vibrant start to the 2025 academic year.
The Headmaster, Mr Hope Semevor, expressed satisfaction with the impressive turnout of new students, describing it as a reflection of the growing confidence parents and students have in the school’s academic and moral standards.

“We are highly encouraged by the impressive turnout. Admissions have been smooth, and we are confident of meeting our full quota. With the current level of cooperation from parents and staff, we are hopeful of a very successful academic year,” Mr Semevor said.
He emphasised that the school is strictly adhering to the Ghana Education Service (GES) and Ministry of Education directives governing the placement process to ensure fairness and transparency. He also appealed to parents whose wards have not yet reported to do so promptly to enable the school to commence academic activities without delay.

“Mafi Kumase Senior High Technical School provides a very serene environment for teaching and learning, adequate security, and essential amenities. Parents can rest assured that their children are in safe hands. Those placed here are indeed fortunate to be part of a school with such a rich and disciplined tradition,” he added.

Beyond academics, Mafi Kumase SHTS has earned a national reputation for excellence in choral music, remaining the reigning national champions in choral competitions since 2018. The school’s celebrated choir continues to bring pride not only to the Central Tongu District but also to the Volta Region and Ghana at large.

Some first-year students who spoke to Joy News could not hide their excitement and anticipation.
“I’m very happy to be here. The school is beautiful, and everyone is so welcoming. I can’t wait to join the choir and make my parents proud,” one enthusiastic student said.
Another added, “I’ve always admired Mafi Kumase because of its music achievements and technical training. I’m looking forward to learning and contributing to the school’s legacy.”

With admissions progressing smoothly, a vibrant student body, and a proud tradition of academic and musical excellence, Mafi Kumase Senior High Technical School is poised for yet another successful and inspiring academic year.
