President John Mahama has identified areas he believes require constitutional amendments to enhance Ghana’s governance framework.
They are the election of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), the emoluments of Article 71 officeholders, and the appointment of ministers from Parliament.

Speaking during a March 4 meeting with the Constitution Review Committee, chaired by Prof. H. Kwasi Prempeh, President Mahama emphasized the need for reforms to promote transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance.

The committee met with the president to seek his perspectives on the review process and the constitutional changes he considers necessary.

The ongoing review aims to address longstanding governance challenges and improve the effectiveness of state institutions.
