The 2022/23 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League resumed over the weekend following more than a month’s break due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
In the Southern zone, Ridge City’s quest for a first league win hit a snag as they suffered a 1-4 defeat to Faith Ladies at the McDan Park on Saturday, January 28.
New head coach, Isaac Asiamah took charge of his first league game as the Panthers’ gaffer but his team was far from their best.
Hasaacas Ladies stayed at the top of the table with a 2-1 win over LadyStrikers at the Sekondi Gyandu Park.
Doris Boaduwaa was on the scoresheet to secure victory for the Hasmal Ladies.
Army Ladies also earned a narrow win over Soccer Intellectual while Police Ladies and Essiam Socrates played out a 1-1 stalemate.
New signing Jafar Rahama provided an assist as Berry Ladies went past Thunder Queens in their fixture.
In the Northern zone, the game between Dreamz Ladies and Prisons FC failed to produce any goal.
Pearlpia Ladies eased past AshTown Ladies with a 3-1 score at home.
Abdul Rahman Barikisu scored a brace for the home team who are looking to prove a point in the second phase of the season.
There are three games still left to play in the zone with Fabulous Ladies hosting Northern Ladies while Candy Soccer Academy also welcome Tamale Super Ladies.
League leaders Ampem Darkoa Ladies are up against Supreme Ladies.
