The Tepa Circuit Court presided over by Mr. Emmanuel Amo-Yartey, has sentenced Sule Yakabu, 28, a labourer to 20 years imprisonment in hard labour for defiling a 7-year-old primary two girl.
He pleaded guilty to the charge.
Chief Inspector Prosper Yao Aheto said the accused lived in the same house with the victim and her mother at Tepa.
On January 4, Yakubu took advantage of the absence of victim’s mother in the house and invited her to his room to collect money to buy him iced-water.
As soon as the victim entered the room, the accused shut the door and defiled her.
