Health Services Administrators in Ghana have been urged to prioritise effective contract management.
According to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Oheneba Owusu-Danso, this will ensure that contracts are executed expeditiously.
“Effective contract management ensures that performance of the parties meet the desired standard, which in effect is the surest way to avoid breaches and subsequent litigations,” he added
Dr Danso was addressing the 43rd Annual General Conference of the Association of Health Services Administrators of Ghana (AHSAG) in Ho, Volta Region.
Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Yaw Letsa, in a speech read on his behalf said, contract and procurement infractions, especially in the public sector, come in various forms.
To deal with this, managers in the sector require deep knowledge, integrity and paying serious attention to contract management, the minister suggested.
