Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Mrs Doreen Owusu Fianko, has been sacked.
The Board Chairman, Kuntu Blankson, announced this on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday.
Mrs. Owusu Fianko has been asked to handover to her Deputy by Friday September 13, 2013.
He said the board was yet to inform President John Mahama of the decision.
But Mrs. Fianko has expressed shock at the news of her dismissal.
According to her, she is still at post and has not received any formal letter from the board.
Meanwhile, David Annan, a member of the board said Mrs. Owusu Fianko's dismissal was a majority decision.
He described her dismissal as unfortunate because according to him, the board did not give her the opportunity to respond to the allegations leveled against her which forms the basis of her dismissal.
David Annan added "I did not approve the resignations on legal grounds".
