The police administration has promoted General Constable Nester Aneateba to the rank of a full Corporal.This is in compliance to a directive by President John Mahama.The president issued the directive following what was described as the “display of exemplary bravado” by Nester Aneateba “in rescuing 14 victims trapped after the collapse of the Achimota Melcom Building in Accra.”The 27 year old who was part of the police personnel deployed for the rescue mission entered the wreckage of the collapsed building several times to rescue 14 survivors at the peril of his life.He sustained various degrees of injuries in his effort.A statement signed by the Director-General Admin, Rose Bio Atinga said “In compliance with the directives of the president, the police administration has with effect from today 8th November, 2012 promoted No. 44831 General Constable Nester Aneateba from the rank of a Constable to the rank of a full Corporal."The statement called on other officers to emulate the courage shown by the constable “and live up to their calling of protecting life and properties.
