Ghana defender John Mensah has returned to action after recovering from a hamstring injury to play the entire duration of the game for Sunderland as they lost 2-0 at Arsenal on Saturday.
The 'Rock of Gilbraltar' has overcome the injury he suffered at Stoke after he resumed training with the rest of the first-team squad ahead of the clash with the Gunners.
Mensah lasted the entire 90 minutes but suffered some knocks which were not threatening.
His return, which follows hot on the heels of Anton Ferdinand's comeback, has given manager Steve Bruce a nice defensive boost.
But with the selection headache as they could not halt a run of 13 games without a Premier League win.
The injury-prone Mensah will be hoping to stay on his feet ahead of Ghana's participation in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa in June.
