MobileMoney Limited, a subsidiary of the country’s largest mobile telecommunications company, MTN Ghana, recently marked its 15th anniversary with a celebration event titled "Stakeholder Dinner and Awards Night" at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
The event attracted a cross-section of business personalities, including the CEO of GCB Bank, Mr Kofi Adomako, and the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah.
The company celebrated 15 years of successful operations, honouring business partners and mobile money merchants for their contributions to its growth. China Mall was named the Overall Best MoMo Merchant and received a plaque along with GHS15,000.
Several individuals who have made significant contributions to the company were honoured. Among them, the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems (GhIPSS), Mr Archie Hesse, was recognised as the "Fintech Champion of the Decade," while Madam Rita Mensah, featured in MTN Ghana’s popular "Mensa Aka" advert, received a cash prize of GH₵30,000.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of MobileMoney Limited, Shaibu Haruna, expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for embracing MoMo over the years, particularly for the trust they have placed in the company.
