The Ministry of Food and Agriculture has indicated plans to establish a business unit that will serve as the ministry’s investor relation department to link farmer’s with investors.
Deputy Agric Minister in charge of Crops, Yaw Effah Baafi says the unit will also, amongst other things, identify opportunities available in the sector and present them to venture capitalists.
“One of the activities that the unit will be engaged in is land registry or land bank registry. Landowners who have land and are ready and willing to give them out for the purposes of farming will register with the ministry (and) the ministry will in turn link them up to interested investors.
“The ministry will mediate or moderate the acquisition and use of such lands."
