Ghana international Mohammed Kudus says he is not far from winning the CAF African Footballer of the Year.
Kudus is enjoying his most productive season in a season after already hitting 20 goals for both club and country. The 22-year-old, however, has not played as he continues his recovery from an injury he picked in the Dutch Cup game against Feyenoord.
Speaking on the latest episode of Ask the Pro, a series on Ajax TV, Kudus was quizzed about the prospect of winning the African best player award in the future.
The former Nordsjaelland star expressed positivity about receiving the award in a few years' time.
“I believe everything is possible in this world so definitely yeah I will be chosen one day," he said.
Since Abedi Pele won the CAF award three times in a row in 1993, no Ghanaian has been able to clinch it with the closest being his son, Andre Ayew, in 2015.
Kudus' exploits in the 2022/23 season saw him make the 2023 Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 list.
