Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan Suhuniyi has described the motion to haul NDC Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi before the House as an attempt by the Majority side to equalize.
It follows the referral of Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong to the Privileges Committee after he moved a motion on the matter.
Yesterday, Second Deputy Majority Whip, Habib Iddrisu moved a motion on the floor requesting that Mr Gyamfi be hauled before the House.
“I hereby draw the attention of the house of comments that was made by Mr Sammy Gyamfi. They blatantly defiled the leadership of the party and betray the collective good of their selfish interest and we must not let them succeed in this particular order. Mr Speaker accordingly is an attack to the Speakership and the leadership of this house under order 27, Mr Speaker, I want to move that this should be referred to the Committee of Privileges," he said.
MP for Tamale North Alhassan Suhuyini says the motion is just an attempt by the Majority side to equalize.
"It is a very childish attempt to equalize the very important motion that seeks to drag Kennedy Agyapong to the Privileges Committee for his very despicable threats on the life of Erastus Asare Donkor and it is not worth our attention at all, it is very pedestrian way of attempting to unnecessarily create equalization,” he said.
Meanwhile Second Deputy Speaker, Andrew Amoako Asiamah is expected to rule later today on whether Sammy Gyamfi should be hauled before the Privileges Committee for contempt.
