The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) is making frantic efforts to convince Ben Nunoo-Mensah to rescind his decision to quit as the Chef D’ Mission of Ghana for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Information gathered by the www.sportscrusaderonline.com, reveals that, the ministry is unhappy with the sudden resignation of the Chef D’ Mission since it would have negative effects on Ghana’s preparations for the games.
The two ministers; Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah and his deputy Joseph Yamin, have initiated measures to convince the hardworking Chef D’ Mission to reconsider his decision and return to work as soon as possible.
Other high ranking members in government have also stepped in to convince Nunoo-Mensah to reconsider his decision.
In another development, the Commonwealth Games Federation has directed the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) to deal with all internal issues ahead of the Games.
The directive was in response to a letter sent to the Games Federation informing them about the resignation of Ben Nunoo-Mensah.
The Federation from all indications was not happy with the development and therefore asked the GOC to make efforts to address the situation that led to the resignation of the hardworking Chef D’ Mission.
Ghana, is rated as one of the best countries, which has made so much progress in their preparations towards the Commonwealth Games.
Ghana was also given high commendations for the successful organisation of the Queens Baton Relay.
Nunoo-Mensah, early this week quit his position as the Chef D’ Mission of the Ghana for the Commonwealth Games and Treasurer of the GOC.
