Mr Prince Jacob Hayibor, Member of Parliament for Hohoe-North, on Friday cautioned the electorate not to fall for monetary enticement by politicians in the upcoming general elections.
He said politicians were crafty and might want to use ways and means to grab political power at all cost and cautioned the electorate, especially the youth, to remain vigilant and denounce any such moves.
“Life is more than party t-shirts and perhaps 10 Ghana Cedis,” Mr Hayibor said in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on the fringes of the national congress of E.P Students’ Union.
He warned that any individual or groups who would accept monetary reward to cause confusion, or promote violence would be held responsible.
"Be aware that you will be responsible for your own acts of omission or commission," he added.
Mr Hayibor said Ghana needs everybody to contribute to nation building.
He appealed to all stakeholders of the country’s democratic dispensation to continue to preach peace for trouble-free elections.
Elections, he said, should not be a matter of life and death and urged all to protect the current peace, “even if one needs to swallow a bitter pill in order to salvage peace”.
